Even here in Arlington, WA — where our population is about 20,000 residents — offers a variety of options for whatever you’re craving! We’ve touched on tasty food in our Guide to Arlington, now read on for a longer list of restaurants to visit ASAP.

Steins Taphouse is the jewel of the Pacific Northwest brew scene. With 32 of the best craft beers, ciders, seltzer, and root beer on tap, there is something for everyone. The facility is family-friendly and even has old-school arcade games to keep you entertained. Beer isn’t all they have! Enjoy a bite to eat from their menu of appetizers, pizzas, sandwiches, and salads for a fun afternoon with friends.

Moose Creek Barbeque meets the need for drool-worthy meat. You can order online for in-store pickup to avoid lines or get in touch about their family and party-sized catering options. Go early if you can — they’re known for occasionally selling out because the food is that good.

Hammond Bread Company is a staple of the community. You really can taste the love baked into every loaf, roll, and treat! Their story began as a personal fundraiser opportunity and developed into a business that has turned customers into friends. Stop by and give it a try!

Hubb’s Pizza & Pasta has a cozy interior that reminds us of visiting a family cabin. Besides highly customizable pizzas and pastas, you can also order stacked salads or savory sub sandwiches to satisfy your taste buds. Don’t forget something to sip on! They have beer & wine for 21+ patrons or a myriad of other drink options.

Suda Thai Cuisine provides the people of Arlington with authentic Thai food in bountiful portions for a fair price. Most dishes are perfectly sized for at least two people or you can order an extra meal and guarantee leftovers. We recommend the coconut prawn appetizer and sizzling lemongrass entree.

Belt Sushi & Roll and Hot Iron Mongolian Grill are located right next to each other, which is basically a dream come true! Belt Sushi is family owned and offers small plates served on a conveyer belt for $2 to $6 as well as made-to-order kitchen fare. Next door at the Mongolian Grill, you can expect high-quality ingredients cooked fresh and customized just for you.

This list doesn’t even begin to do justice for the classic vintage diner scene which is alive and well in Arlington, WA. We can think of at least three off the top of our heads! For that insider information, you’ll have to keep an eye out for future blogs. As always, the best way to discover any new city is to get out there and drive around! Bean About It: Coffee Shops to Try in Arlington, WA

There’s no doubt about it, the Pacific Northwest loves its coffee! In the big city and smaller towns, you can find perfectly roasted beans and baristas who know their stuff on just about any main street. Here’s our guide to the best coffee shops around Arlington, WA.

To begin, we have to mention there are multiple Starbucks locations in town. With its birthplace just south of us in Seattle, we’d be remiss to not say something. However, if you’re looking for somewhere local, right off of the I-5 are Sunrise Espresso and Gourmet Latte practically across the street from each other. Keep driving east along 172nd St. and you’ll pass Walker’s Coffee Company or take a left on 67th Ave and stop at Caffe Pronto. Continue north to reach Ericksen’s Espresso, Autumn’s Coffee Co, and The Speckled Cow.

We’re not done yet! Downtown you can find Local Joe Espresso, Stilly Coffee House, Your Daily Grind Espresso, and two Moe’s locations for you to choose between — Moe’s Espresso and Moe’s On Olympic. We love grabbing a drink to go and taking a walk along Olympic Ave and window shop.

The best part about many of these shops is that they’re locally owned so you can directly support your new neighbors while getting your daily caffeine fix. A number of these shops are drive-up shacks just perfect for a quick stop while you’re out doing errands or on your way to the next outdoor adventure. We encourage you to try them all at least once (or twice) and see what makes each unique.

Take A Hike: How to Enjoy the Great Outdoors of the Pacific Northwest

Chances are if you live in the great Pacific Northwest, you might also be an outdoorsy person. If that doesn’t sound like you, well, there’s never been a better time to change your mind! In Arlington, WA there are so many beautiful parks to visit and soak up the sunshine while it lasts.

As we mentioned in a previous blog, the closest natural areas are Portage Creek Wildlife Reserve, Country Charm Conservation Area, Gissberg Twin Lakes, and River Meadows County Park. Each offers its own special wildlife, scenery, and rules so make sure to tap the links above and know where you’re going before you get there. Not all of these spots allow dogs, so bookmark directions to Strawberry Fields Off-Leash Dog Park and your furry best friend can enjoy the best of the outdoors while making some pals with paws. Perhaps future puppy playdates will introduce you to new friends too!

Take to the hills and spend your free days hiking the many trails available nearby. Centennial Trail provides miles of paved pathway, making it perfect for walking, running, and biking. There’s even an equestrian trail for horse-lovers but beware of bear sightings! Whitehorse Regional Trail is also a beautiful option for a relaxed walk through the woods. Check out the link for a list of trailheads connecting to this trail so you can see all of it without having to walk all of it in one go! Granite Falls Fish Ladder is a hidden gem not too far from town where you can see salmon leaping upriver.

Before your trek begins, there are certain supplies you’ll want to have. First up are the bare necessities — food and water! Next up is footwear. A good pair of wool socks and sturdy boots will have your feet thanking you after a few miles of walking. Since we like to be prepared, an extra jacket, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a first aid kit often find their way into a hiking backpack so our hands can be free and our minds at ease.

A fun afternoon in the great outdoors doesn’t have to be strenuous! Close to our community are two of the most scenic and impressive attractions our town has to offer — the Arlington Lavender Farm and the Outback Kangaroo Farm. Also known as Purple Robe Lavender Farm, this picturesque location is the ideal venue for a picnic or date. What says romance like a bundle of lavender and fresh lemonade or ice cream? At the wildlife park, 40-minute tours are conducted four times a day and give you exclusive access to all sorts of animals from alpacas to wallabies and plenty of other furry and feathered friends.
